The Tread Doctor® is Hardline Products’ heated tire grooving tool, designed to re-cut and refurbish motocross, off-road, and hare scrambles tires by warming a hardened blade and slicing clean grooves into the rubber. The Tread Doctor® does two things. The main blade re-cuts edges in worn knobbies (tire grooving), restoring tread depth and sharp edges on tires that have rounded over. The Sniper attachment adds small slits (sipes) to the lugs and knobbies, which improve bite on hardpack, mixed terrain, and slick surfaces. Most riders start with the Tread Doctor® alone for grooving, then add the Sniper Kit for siping when they want more bite.
